Nail Sugery
What are ingowing toenails?
An ingrowing toenail is when the side of your nail is digging into the toe causing pain and infection. This can make closed in shoes uncomfortable and slight pressure on toe painful.
The side or sides of the nail can be removed or alternatively the whole nail can be removed to resolve this problem.
What is Nail Surgery?
Nail surgery is performed under a local anaesthetic allowing your experience to be pain free and resolving your problematic toenail. We are able to remove either the side or sides of your nail, known as a partial nail avulsion, otherwise we can remove the whole nail known as a total nail avulsion.
Prior to nail surgery you will require a routine appointment to discuss your treatment options. We will assess your medical health and suitability for nail surgery. We will explain the procedure and aftercare, allowing any questions you may have to be answered.
You will need to bring a friend or family member as we recommend you do not drive home after the procedure.
Nail sugery at our practice includes regular check up appointments to ensure the wound is healing properly and all your dressings for your aftercare will be provided.
